Jazz fight for W in ATL, continue comeback streak

For the fourth straight game, the Utah Jazz overcame a second-half deficit of 10 points or more on their way to a 90-86 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

In what is becoming a scary trend, Deron Williams stunk in the first half yet again, but came out blazing in the second half to finish with 24 points and 10 assists, including one stretch in the 3rd quarter where he scored 11 points in a row.

This comeback was different in that the Jazz didn't face a huge hole at halftime, but offensive struggles in the 3rd quarter helped the Hawks stretch their lead to 11.

It's hard to know what to think of the comeback streak.

On one hand, you think that they can't keep falling behind and expect to win.  On the other hand, 3 of the comebacks have been against 3 of the 4 best teams in the Eastern Conference, and they have shown more fight and fortitude then they may have in years past.

Still yet to be solved is the anemic play from the Jazz bench, at least offensively.  It seems as though the bench goes the way CJ Miles goes.  Last night the Jazz did see the return of Jeremy Evans, who provided an athletic boost.

Andrei Kirilenko has been a revelation so far this season.  After two absolutely atrocious games to start the season, AK has been solid, knocking down jumpers (especially threes), getting to the rack (although still finishing like a sissy), and grabbing boards.  AK had 14 points and 12 boards last night.

Right now, the Jazz are 4-2 on the road.  Can they keep it up?  Tonight they are in Charlotte.  Surely one would think the Jazz would run out of gas on their second game of their second back-to-back, especially when all the scoring is coming from starters.  But, the Bobcats did play last night as well, a win at Washington.

Do know this: if the Jazz can scrape out another win tonight, they will be 7-3 and will be playing 12 of their next 14 games at home.  In that stretch, the 2 roadies are only as far away as Portland and LA.  With nobody laying claim to the Northwest Division as the Thunder struggle, Denver is injured, and Portland is inconsistent ... is this the time for the Jazz to seize control?
